Deron Dixon Designs

I use reclaimed parts; not for their recognition as other things, but entirely for their essence.  Surface rust, wear marks, chips, nicks, and cracks; all tell me that "this is real".  Not something created in a lab, put in a box and defined, for others to echo.

I have a limited number of parts, as I find them; and that limitation alone reigns in infinity.  The evolution of my sculpture is one of consistent assessment, analysis, and critique; followed by complete freedom and feeling- my process determines the outcome.  Almost all of my sculptures go through some drastic transformation to the original idea- a quick left or a last minute addition or substantial elimination, or an impulsive combination.
